The new 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera made its world debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. As the first successor to the original Gallardo Superleggera (“superlight” in Italian), it’s currently the highest-spec model in the Gallardo range. It is powered by a by a direct-injected 5.2-liter V10 that produces 570HP.
Weighing just 2,954 lbs, the 570-4 Superleggera is far lighter than the last superlight Gallardo’s 3,153 lbs. This is made possible by the abundant usage of carbon fiber materials. Other performance features include 19-inch forged aluminum wheels wearing Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber, optional carbon ceramic disc brakes, permanent all-wheel drive and a six-speed e-gear transmission.
All in all, less weight and more power means that the LP570-4 Supperleggera can run from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 202 mph. More details can be found in Lamborghini’s press release.
